#01 Micah's Hope, Akitas Forever Home Quilt:
A true labor of love in every stitch. This quilt came from
the heart in remembrance of one very special, one-of-a-kind
Akita named Micah!
This fabulous queen sized
quilt titled "Micah's Hope, Akitas Forever Home" was made
from squares assembled by members of
AkitaAdopters@yahoo.com in honor of Micah, one of 56
Akitas rescued from the desert in Palmdale, CA by dedicated
groups and individuals across the country. The quilt
includes 20 unique houses, each with a trio of adorable
Akitas in the doorway just waiting to welcome you home. The
houses are surrounded by stars just as our beloved Akitas
are surrounded by our love. The quilt was pieced by JoAnn
Dimon, Toms River, NJ; Bobbi O'Keefe, Miami, FL; Michelle
Poy, Warwick, RI; Brenda Griffith, Glenolden, PA; Lori Lober,
West Hollywood, CA; Debra Pelkey, Boston, NY; and machine
quilted by North Star Quilting, Gowanda, NY.
This is truly a work of art
and beyond compare -- the photos do no justice to this MUST
HAVE quilt. It would look breathtaking on any bed! Don't
miss out on a chance to own this beauty -- sure to
be an heirloom in your family!

She has included as well a rare, first edition Akita:
Treasure of Japan book never used and her own collectible

added her second edition -- Akita: Treasure of Japan. She
signed all three books. Then, she rummaged more and found a

Japan Vintage Ceramic Plate
Akita Dogs Playing w/Kannon:
This piece measures 12" in diameter. It is a Tokoname kiln
piece with the raised image of Kannon in the center and 5
Akita dogs surrounding him. In the arena of Buddhist piety,
no other Buddha worshipped by as many people as is Kanzeon (Kannon)
Bosatsu. As indicated by his name, Kanzeon Bosatsu is the
Bodhisattva Who Perceives the Sounds of the World. He made a
vow to hear the voices of people and the sounds of the
condition of the world and immediately grant salvation to
the suffering and the afflicted, and dispel the evil and
calamities that surround us.
The dogs' happiness and utmost
joy being with Kannon is well expressed by their almost
giddy jumping motion as the only way the dogs know how to
express their sense of adoration and worship. This is a
special commissioned piece designed by the artist, Yamaguchi
Yoshio and manufactured by Senkoen kiln in Tokoname City of
Aichi Prefecture of Japan. The piece's rich amber color is
natural from the iron mineral rich clay that Tokoname is
known. The condition of the plate is very good and it comes
with its own wooden box. The cover of the box reads "Tokoname
piece, by Yamaguchi Yoshio, Zodiac Animal, Dog decorative
plate, by Senkoen." The age of this piece is from the 1970s
sometime in the Year of the Dog.
